We, the women of Phoenix Women’s Chorus, want to express our sincere gratitude to you, our audience members, our donors, our volunteers, our staff and all of you who support us in so many ways!
We have come to the conclusion of our first full season as Phoenix Women’s Chorus and our 21st season of lesbian representation in the Phoenix performing arts community. Under the artistic leadership of Dr. Lucik Aprahamian, we have become increasingly more recognized and respected through our mission and our vision. Our name has changed, yet our mission remains:
“To be committed to enhanced lesbian visibility, to celebrate the contributions of women in music, and to the passionate pursuit of artistic excellence.”
Our concert season this year entitled, “Draw the Circle Wide”, focused on opening our hearts and our circle even wider than before.
We participated in the incredible collaboration with the other LGBT choruses and musicians in a second We Are One concert, at the prestigious Orpheum Theatre.
We hosted a Las Vegas Casino Night on April 26 at Bliss/reBar in downtown Phoenix.
Our final concert, just this past weekend, “You’re Already Home”, reminded us of the meaning of “home”. In a world where so many have no home, we celebrate the many relationships we have that keep us grounded, nurture us and encourage us to find our voice, embrace it and bring it forth in others.
Phoenix Women’s Chorus is committed to keeping our organization a place where women find their voice, experience sisterhood, and find a place of rest and refuge from the illnesses and heartaches of their lives. For music does, indeed, heal the heart and soul!
We look forward to celebrating the 22nd year of this chorus and count on you to join us!
