Jane Murdock, Treasurer. Jane joined AZWIT March, 2006, after attending her very first concert and is an alto 1. Music has always been in her life: playing piano, accordion, singing in the church youth choir; playing brass instruments thru high school; then performing the folk songs of the '60s, usually as a solo, to the accompaniment of her guitar. Jane has always been a social worker, eventually earning a Master's in Social Work from Washington University, St. Louis, MO. Her career includes State Assistance Programs, working with battered and abused women, community health centers, hospital discharge planning and, in Arizona, being a hospice social worker over the last 10 years. Meta Goforth-Zinn, Member-at-Large After performing with Arizona Women in Tune last season, Meta is thrilled to be serving the organization this season through board service. Meta lives in Queen Creek with her partner, Stephanie, and their menagerie of furry cats. Meta left her childhood home in the mountains of North Carolina to pursue a career in theatre. She started at the Barter Theatre in Virginia where she also worked at a radio station as a DJ. Then she took off on tour all over the United States and Canada, and eventually settled in New York City. Meta has worked Off Broadway with Terrence McNally, Robert Whitehead and others as a Production Stage Manager. She spent seven years as resident Production Stage Manager/Properties Mistress at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Her Broadway experience includes Tony Randall’s National Actor’s Theatre Production of Night Must Fall with Matthew Broderick, and The Civil War where she worked in the education outreach department, helping to bring a significant theatre experience to underprivileged high school students. Every Christmas season she spent with the British American Chamber of Commerce on the staff of their annual Christmas Luncheon at the Waldorf-Astoria. Meta left her many jobs in New York and moved to the Valley of the Sun in 2002. She has been planning and performing weddings and commitment ceremonies since her arrival here. She currently works for Equality Arizona as their full time volunteer coordinator. She also serves as the radio show producer for Equality Arizona Radio, heard every Saturday at 10am on 1480 KPHX.

Michele Michaels, Member-at-Large Michele remembers Arizona Women in Tune when it was TLC in the early 1990's and has enjoyed attending concerts every year since then! A longtime volunteer and activist in the lesbian community in Phoenix, Michele served as President of the board of the Lesbian Resource Project in the mid 90's and most recently served a 2-year term as Grants Officer for One Voice Community Center in Phoenix. She joined Arizona Women in Tune as a board member in September 2007, contributing such strengths as networking, critical analysis, and grants writing. As a woman with progressive hearing loss, Michele also brings awareness of issues related to disability and access. As the Hard of Hearing Specialist for the State of Arizona, Michele travels around Arizona educating and training consumers and professionals about hearing loss. Michele holds a B.A. in Human Communication with a minor in Cultural Anthropology from Arizona State University. Michele also manages the career of a solo artist, Jess Hawk Oakenstar, and Jess's folk duo, Wayward Maggie.

Gail Sattler, Member-at-Large Gail has lived in Arizona for 20 years, having completed a long-planned escape from the cold of Wisconsin. Since arriving here, she has owned a limousine service, drove for Super Shuttle, had a courier/delivery business, and is now selling balloons and sponges. Music has always been an important part of Gail’s life, and she was a member of three singing groups prior to moving here. Gail knew of and had seen “TLC”, but she was unable to join the chorale until about four years ago. Since becoming a part of Arizona Women in Tune, Gail has learned to respect and thoroughly enjoy the music, the sisterhood, and the mission that Arizona Women in Tune presents and represents. Gail hopes this year will be a time of exceptional growth as Arizona Women in Tune continues to discover and treasure who they are and where they are going - as a group and as individuals.
