AZWIT welcomes any woman who shares our vision of increased lesbian visibility, celebrating the accomplishments of women in music and passionately pursuing artistic excellence. Although we do not require an official audition, new singers will be voice checked by the Artistic Director before or after their first or second rehearsal. This is a simple process designed to place the singer in the appropriate section within the choir.
We welcome new singers within the first three rehearsals of each concert preparation time, which begin in September, January and late March. A membership application and payment of membership dues is required at the time a singer joins the choir.
Responsibilities of Membership
- Attend all rehearsals, with no more than three absences per concert preparation.
- Attend and perform in all performances.
- Make an annual donation for membership fees of $150.
- Pay a one time music deposit $25.
AZWIT seeks to be accessible to ALL women, regardless of their financial status. If a woman cannot pay the full amount at one time, payment plans are available.
