Lucik Aprahamian
Artistic Director
She begins the 2010-11 season as the new artistic director of the Phoenix-based choir, Arizona Women in Tune. She also joins Scottsdale Musical Arts as co-conductor where she will conduct orchestral works by Bizet, Copland, and others. Aprahamian is the co-artistic director of the Southern Arizona Opera. Last spring, under her baton, SAO presented a chamber version of Don Giovanni, and this season the company will perform two newly commissioned operas and scenes by Verdi. She is presently the choral director at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, and the assistant conductor of the Tucson Chamber Artists.
Terry Gunn
Business Manager
Terry has been a part of the Arizona Women in Tune community for more than ten years. She served six years in leadership positions including two terms as our Board Chair, and two years previously in the capacity of Business Manager. With a career background in hotel and resort management, Terry combines an expertise in all facets of business oversight with specialized knowledge in the areas of non profit board leadership, strategic planning, and organizational development.
Mamak Charepoo
Accompanist
Mamak Charepoo has been an active accompanist in the Valley of the Sun for over 10 years, accompanying singers and instrumentalists in recitals, master classes and competitions. She has performed in master classes for Jean Pierre Rampal, Margo Garrett, and Eckart Selheim and was principal pianist for the Mesa Symphony for 6 years. In addition, Charepoo collaborated and performed with soprano Magda Silva in an original work entitled Opera Seria…not, and toured with several singers from the Valley in an all African-American Art Song Lecture Recital. She received her Masters in Music from Carnegie Mellon University and her Masters in Collaborative Piano from Arizona State University. She is the proud mother of three very active and wonderful children.
La Dessa Coleman
Music Librarian
La Dessa has been a singing member of Arizona Women in Tune since 2000. She has served with the Board of Directors and participated on the membership, fund-raising and concert committees. She has served as our Music Librarian for 3 seasons. La Dessa is known for her loving spirit, warm smile and welcoming hugs. Her passion for life is contagious.
Haley Ritter
AZWIT Sign Language Interpreter
Haley is our American Sign Language Interpreter (ASL). Taking her passion for music and dance, she converts song lyrics and rhythms into movement. Haley takes the life and passion from our voices, painting a moving picture of the music with spirit and elegance. Our audiences have been delighted with the visual and lively rendition of our music. Haley believes that hearing impaired people can feel and see music, even though they cannot hear it.
